Visual Arts and Gallery

Boston Progress works to organize a series of exhibitions of Asian American visual artists, which take place at East Meets West bookstore and arts space. We bring together local and national talents so they can expose their work to the Asian American community, and the larger Boston area arts community. The vision of the exhibition series is to give the artists, especially under-exposed and often over-looked, a chance to present their artwork in a new context. Visitors to each showing get to interact with the artists in an unusually intimate way. “Foundations: In The Raw,” featured the works of three powerful Asian American women: Diem Dangers, Theresa Hwang, and Sahra Nguyen. “Transitions” featured the works of painter/community organizer Sophea Khem. Our most recent exhibit, “we/me” features work from longtime community artists Wen-ti Tsen and Tri Quach (pictured right). It opened at the W/Y Gallery in Chinatown on Friday, May 4 of last year.
