“Open Orchestra” is BPAC’s newest program, created in 2009.
A sister to the monthly open mic series - East Meets Words - Open Orchestra was created for BPAC members, friends, and newcomers to maintain a spirit of openness and sharing, while exploring new heights through collaboration and spontaneous collective movement.
An orchestra consists of many parts. Strings, percussion, horns, brass. The beautiful, collective sound that an audience hears is largely guided by the precise execution of notes on a sheet… and the humble acceptance of the conductor’s presence.

Open Orchestra is something a little different. Take away the sheet. And take away the conductor. Imagine a room full of individuals playing the instrument of their choice… predicated not on the extent of one’s training, but rather on a deep love of music.
Open Orchestra. Open. Collective. Music.
